Newland Named Developer of the Year
Green Home Builder Magazine has named Newland as its “Developer of the Year” acknowledging over five decades of sustainability practices in building mixed-use communities. The Green Home Builder article points out the partnerships Newland forms with North American Sekisui House, builders, architects, local officials, and many others to envision and build a community that works with how people live now and well into the future.
Tehaleh was highlighted for its open spaces and water conservation efforts, including sustainable measures such as an on-site water treatment facility. Reed’s Crossing in Oregon, and Briar Chapel in North Carolina were also noted for their thoughtful design and attention to building a more sustainable community. While each community offers a unique set of amenities and landscapes, all are recognizable as Newland properties due to the enduring sense of home created through timeless architectural appeal and sense of connection to the surrounding land and communities.
“We believe sustainability is an evolving path, not a final destination,” explains Ted Nelson, CEO of Newland. “I’m most proud of seeing families thrive well into the future. You know you’ve touched literally thousands of lives, and that we’ve made those lives better by building a more sustainable community.”
